La Cala

At the heart of the Costa del Sol on Mijas Costa you will find La Cala. This is a charming old fishing pueblo only a short distance from Marbella and Fuengirola.

This beautiful village lays approximately 25 minutes drive west from Malaga Airport. The fantastic long beaches are well cared for, with clean and soft golden sand.

La Cala has maintained a level of Spain, but in a small way taken on something of an international flavour.

There are a wide range of good quality sports and recreation facilities both in and around La Cala de Mijas.

At Miraflores you will find the tennis club “Club del Sol”. There are gymnasiums, dive centers and virtually every outdoor activity you can bring to mind within minutes of the village.

If you enjoy horse riding, there is a must to visit the hills behind La Cala. But if your interest is strictly as a spectator, then may we suggest the Hippodrome for you. It is recently built and is located just on the outskirts of La Cala and makes for a great family night out.

For the kids and the “big kids” there are lots to do. La Cala is situated just minutes away from Tivoli World, the Fuengirola Zoo, Sea Life and of course the wonderful beaches with all water sports activities you can imagine.

You are sure to enjoy the great variety of excellent restaurants available right here in the village or scattered in every direction nearby. Restaurant prices are low in this part of Spain and the standard is very high.

You have a wide range to choose from including Indian, Chinese, Thai, French and of course a wide choice of Spanish restaurants.

La Cala as a holiday base is perfect throughout the year.
